Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to become a black belt in Taekwondo?

It depends mainly on how frequently you train. It can take 5 years to become a black belt (2-3 classes per week). It also depends on how motivated you are.

I’m not at all flexible. Is it possible for me to learn Taekwondo anyways?

Yes, you can. Flexibility is very helpful for some leg movements but it’s not an absolute requirement. Speed also plays an important role. You will learn how to use the appropriate technique and the required speed.

I’m in my forties. Is it too late for me to start Taekwondo?

You are never too old to start Taekwondo as long as you are able to exercise. The most important goal of training is that you be in good physical and mental condition..

My son is 8 years old and is hyperactive. How can he function in the class without the use of drugs such as Ritalin (which I don’t approve of)?

Taekwondo classes will help your son develop his concentration and his coordination while channelling his energy. Moreover, our trainers are going to sensitize him to values such as respect (for himself and for others) and self-discipline.

I’m 11 years old and overweight. Kids at school make fun of me. Will Taekwondo help me lose weight?

Certainly, training in Taekwondo will help, but good eating habits combined with 2-3 classes per week will be even more effective.

I would really like to try Taekwondo but what will happen if I register and pay for the year, and then find out later that I don’t want to continue?

We suggest you register for just one month. This will give you an initiation to the basic techniques. If, after one month, you want to continue, you can then register for a year or, if you prefer, register for another month to be sure.

My son is just 4 years old. Is he too young for Taekwondo?

Not at all. In fact, our experience has shown that training in Taekwondo contributes to better concentration at school.
